The booklet “Sou nativa, sim senhor” (I am a native, yes sir) is an educational work that combines the charm of popular culture with the urgency of environmental awareness. With rhyming texts in the cordel style and engaging illustrations, it introduces the public to Brazil’s native bees and their vital importance in preserving biodiversity. More than just informing, the booklet seeks to raise awareness and delight, valuing oral tradition and Northeastern art as paths to environmental education. Scientific knowledge is intertwined with the language of the people, promoting ecological knowledge in a light, fun and accessible way. Aimed at students, teachers, educators and readers of all ages, the work is recommended for use in classrooms, science fairs, extension projects and reading circles, within a plan to popularize science. A true celebration of native bees, Brazilian biomes and sustainable ways of life. The booklet is the result of a partnership between UEPB (State University of Paraíba), INSA (National Institute of the Semi-Arid Region) and GVAA (Green Group of Agroecology and Bees).
