A CORRELAÇÃO ENTRE FRAGILIDADE FÍSICA E DEPRESSÃO EM IDOSOS: UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
Abstract
The present work addressed the psychological aspects of the elderly and their effects on quality of life. The main focus is on talking about depression in older people. A correlation will be made between depression and physical frailty in the elderly and how doctors and the social environment can deal with such aspects. In this vein, this research carried out an analysis of the psychological aspects of the elderly, fundamentally depression. To identify the relationship between depressive symptoms and physical frailty in elderly people through an integrative literature review and the mental health coping strategies used by health professionals in these people's daily lives. In view of the proposed objectives, an integrative literature review was carried out. Databases: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) through the Virtual Health Library (BVS). The inclusion criterion concerns the period of time in which the articles were published (last 5 years); they are articles published from 2016 to 2021. The exclusion criterion will be based on duplicate articles and out of date. In view of the above, the relationship between physical frailty and depression in the elderly was evidenced and the most significant studies on the subject were raised.
