AVALIAÇÃO DA ROTULAGEM E DO PERFIL NUTRICIONAL DE PRATOS PRONTOS PARA O CONSUMO

Abstract
The consumption of ultra-processed foods with low nutritional quality is replacing more nutritious homemade preparations, causing problems to the health of the population. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the conformity of ready meals in relation to the current Brazilian legislation, as well as the analysis of the content of sodium, total, saturated, trans and liquid sugar on the label. Fifty-nine products sold in supermarkets in the municipality of Santa Maria / RS were selected. The nutrients were obtained through the parameters transformed by the Nutritional Traffic Light (Food Standards Agency) and by the OPAS Nutritional Profile Method. The results showed that 62.7% were in accordance with the legislation and 37.3% non-conformities. Regarding the assessment of the nutritional profile, most of the products obtained have an excess of defined nutrients. Thus, it can be demanded that there is a need for an effective inspection so that the labels guarantee correct information about the product, thus allowing the consumer to make appropriate food choices
