Social service and health management: necessary dialogues for the effectiveness of public policies

Abstract

The field of Health Management is a recent field for social workers. As a way of understanding how the field of Health Management is unfolding for these professionals, we have this experience report, which aims to bring reflections on the experience of a social worker and resident in collective health, in the field of Social Service inserted in the management position of an Emergency Care Unit, in the 9th health region of the State of Paraíba. The method that will support the analyzes of this report will be based on the critical theoretical framework and will have as its starting point the entirety of social life, with it being inseparable to understand the complex mediations without highlighting the terrain whose sociability it reproduces. Aiming to achieve the objectives of this report, this work has a descriptive, qualitative nature of the experience report type, evidenced by its objective of revealing the reality now analyzed.Health management, by incorporating the social service perspective, begins to act in a more strategic and resolute way, contributing to improving the population's quality of life.
