Abstract

This work had as objective to evaluate the ambient impacts on the chemical attributes in a pozolic soil (Ultisol) in the region of Mossoró, cultivated with melon (Cucumis melo L.), in function of the culture time. The study was lead in the Farm, city of Mossoró - RN. The selection of the areas was carried through taking in consideration four (04) times of use, being an area of native bush, an area with two years of culture, another one with two years and way and one fourth area with three years of culture. In each chosen area, the collection of ground samples was carried through in 10 random points, in three depths (0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm). The sub-samples had been mixed, for each depth, and divided in three samples. These had been lead to the Laboratory of the UFERSA, for accomplishment of the analyses chemical. The used delineation was entirely randomized, in factorial 4 x 3 (four times of use and three depths), with three repetitions. The averages had been compared by the test of Tukey with the level of 5% of probability. It was verified that the culture time influenced all the chemical variable, except magnesium. But the variable pH, electric conductivity, organic substance, match and potassium had presented alterations significant in the studied ground layers. With practical the current ones of handling adopted, it does not have imminent risks of degradation of the ground.
