Reconfiguração do sistema agroalimentário afro-cesarense: da mineração do carvão à transição para a sustentabilidade

Resumo

Neste estudo, analisamos os impactos sobre a segurança alimentar do sistema agroalimentário do Conselho Comunitário Afrodescendente de La Jagua de Ibirico (Cesar – Colômbia), estruturado na dependência econômica da mineração de carvão. Utilizamos uma abordagem qualitativa-descritiva. Realizamos entrevistas semiestruturadas com famílias agrícolas e grupos focais com membros-chave da comunidade. Identificamos os fatores ambientais, sociais e econômicos que influenciam a produção e a segurança alimentar do conselho comunitário. Os resultados mostram que a atividade de mineração de carvão nesta comunidade reduziu a produção local de alimentos, aumentou a dependência de fontes externas e elevou os riscos de insegurança alimentar. A falta de infraestrutura e o acesso limitado a recursos para as atividades agrícolas agravam essa condição de vulnerabilidade alimentar. No entanto, o estudo também destaca oportunidades de recuperação, como a adoção de práticas agroecológicas que promovam a soberania alimentar e fortaleçam a resiliência comunitária. Os achados sublinham a necessidade de políticas que apoiem a produção agrícola sustentável e reduzam a dependência dos mercados externos.
